Star Wars

I changed my mind about the goose for now. I made a wizard. Molly and I took Flat Stanley to the MegaMall today. We got some cute pictures. Here he is at Legoland.
When the weather gets better I'll go to Minneapolis and at least go to the art museum. It's a good one.

Fish & Goose

This is a walking catfish. I'll put it on later. I want to make a Loosey Goosey.
I like the look of geese. Loosey Goosey means relaxed and calm, but Molly heard it in a dancing context. Sounds good. I'm figuring out how to make a goose look like it's dancing.

Spoonbridge and Cherry

Cole's Flat Stanley arrived yesterday. I gave him a makeover. I'm assuming that's ok, Jamie? I think he looks a little like Cole except maybe the bow tie. I sent a clone to Alex who lives in the heart of Minneapolis. We'll see what we can come up with.

Wednesday

Humpty Dumpty is a character in "Alice in Wonderland" although he is much older than that. He explains"Jabberwocky' to Alice. I thought I'd make him since I'm doing other Alice figures.
My flamingo and hedgehog are done. I haven't photographed them yet.

Tuesday

I'm working on a flamingo and a hedgehog. I'm not sure if I can get clay to look spiky.
They are the croquet set in "Alice in Wonderland".
So my nephew, Cole will send me Flat Stanley. I looked him up. He's a character in a book and now he travels like the gnome in "Amelie". Fun! We'll take him around town and take pictures. I'll have to resist the urge to treat him like Mr. Bill.
Just kidding, Jamie.

Poor Dodo

The Dodo was a character in "Alice in Wonderland".It had already been extinct for 200 years.
It probably wasn't hunting that destroyed the bird. They weren't considered tasty. Dogs, cats and pigs were imported . They ate the Dodos and their eggs. Dodos couldn't fly and had no defenses against these new predators.

Bone Fairy

I spent this Saturday making a Bone Fairy. She is blue because my pink fabric is in one of six boxes of fabric and I can't find it.
Next I want to make a Dodo bird.

Off With His Head

I just finished this piece from "Alice in Wonderland". I wasted yesterday on a piece I won't use. Tomorrow I hope to make Slithy Toves. They are from Jabberwocky. Part badger, part lizard and part corkscrew.
Truman went to the beauty parlor today. His head looks small.

64 & Windy

It must be spring. I just spent two hours outside stripping fur off of Truman. He has two coats and it costs an arm and a leg to have it professionally done. All this and he'll get finished at the groomer. He gets restless and I get fur in my mouth.
Someone removed my photo editing program, so I have no idea when I can put anything on Etsy.

Damn

Yesterday's blog was the treasury I put together on Etsy. Alex had to upload it from Minneapolis because I don't know how to do it.
I didn't write on it because I couldn't figure how to do that, either.
This is a picture of the piece I finished today. It's fuzzy. Usually the things I can't do are more spread out.
We're having intermittent snow today. All in all, not a good weekend.

Jitterbugs

I've always enjoyed the little creatures from cartoons in the 1930's or so. Sort of Felix the cat-like.These will be jitterbugs. I' m having a bad day. This should be relatively simple, but I'm having problems.
I got a new, better camera. So far, I haven't seen much improvement in the quality of my pictures. Maybe it's me. I might have to break down and take a class.

One of my all time favorite movies is"Grizzly Man". Timothy Treadwell wanted to be a bear. You could say he got his wish.

54 Degrees-Ooooh!

This will be monsters playing poker. I've recently noticed that simple stuffed alien-type dolls are all over the place. I almost sewed one for Cole's birthday, but I sold a piece and thought I'd better mail his present at the same time. Both are in the mail.
I'm not very happy with my Cassidy piece, but I put it on, anyway. I don't know if it will stay there.
Soon I'll go out to Lee's Liquor Lounge to see Jim play. I haven't seen him play in quite a while.
