Fairies & Spinal Tap

I'm trying to make tiny fairies. It's challenging because my main tools are my fingers and they can be rather large tools for something so tiny. We'll see.
Watching Spinal Tap videos makes me happy.

Chicago Picasso

Yesterday Chicago's WGN radio cancelled the Kathy and Judy show. That makes me so sad. I'd listen every weekday morning while I worked. Now I have nothing. I read the management wanted them to be more combative. I'm sure that's what TV producers tell reality and talk show people to do. I enjoy funny and pleasant, not bickering.
Justin in London emailed me saying he received the Susan Boyle statue and liked it. Will it go to Susan Boyle? It looks like she'll be on Britain's Got Talent tonight. I'll probably never know.

Yesterday

Yesterday was interesting. I sold my statue of Susan Boyle. The buyer was from the "Britain's Got Talent" show and he wanted it before the Sunday show. It cost over 100 dollars to mail it. He paid the difference and thanks to UPS tracking I know that it's flying over the Atlantic now and will land in London soon. I don't know what he plans to do with it.My thanks to Kathy for telling me how to make an invoice for shipping.
We had people over last night. Joe is from Sri Lanka and is delighted that the war is over in his homeland. We had a toast to Sri Lanka.
Christy needed to see "American Idol" so we sort of watched that. Her guy didn't win. We toasted, anyway.
Here is Truman just for the hell of it.

Hamsters

I started to make a couple of hamsters but I'm supposed to be getting ready for company. Hamsters are more fun than cleaning. I figured that if I wrote this I would set them aside and do what I'm supposed to do.
Only in Minnesota can May go from freezing to 95 in a day.

Box & Basket

I got this African basket made of telephone wire yesterday.I couldn't resist.Years ago I learned how to weave basic baskets. I haven't done it in a long time but it made me appreciate the work in them . You can't machine make a basket.
My yard needs more work but I'd rather sculpt. We were talking about the way cats love boxes the other day so I thought I'd address it in a statue.

Not My Lilacs

It seems to be spring. The frost warning didn't pan out for our area so we are cautiously optimistic. Instead of sculpting I've been painting and planting. I'd rather be sculpting. I'm going to Michael's now because clay is on sale.
Star Trek was great, Australia was a bore(at least the beginning, all I saw) and Spock is really really cute.

Banner

Alex redid my banner for 1000Markets. He's working on a resume and will probably add this. I think it's great.
I made a piece today that was a failure. No, you can't see it.I try to think of the hours spent on a bad piece as a learning experience rather than wasted.Well, except for that moment when I look at it and go,"Crap! I really hate this."

Spoonbridge & Anole

Here are two of my favorite things put together, the Spoonbridge in Minneapolis and an anole from Florida.I considered all of the anoles in my yard to be my personal pets when I lived there.
The only thing I miss more is Coco the cat. Technically, he wasn't ours but he adopted us and loved us fiercely. He was the perfect cat. It makes me sad to know that he wouldn't be alive now.

The Border Song

This is Elton John when he was young and fabulous.
I'm painting the bathroom today.

Gray Skies

I'm putting things on sale at Etsy. These little buggers are starting to take up waaay too much space. I wish there were a money fairy who would make my statues disappear and leave cash in their place. It hasn't happened so far.
I see that Farrah Fawcett won't be with us much longer. Sad. This poster was incredibly popular in the seventies. She'll always be remembered for that.

Frogs & Fairies

Well, I made the two fairies and then I made a frog. I don't have a name for the frog yet. While I was kicking around names I thought of "Frog Prince". He would be purple and playing an electric guitar. Prince is from Minneapolis so everyone is very fond of him around here. It's probably been done, but what the hell.

I Dyed a Little Today

This afternoon I dyed some silk for my Bone Fairy. My niece, Dana, wants one. She'll be in town for Molly's birthday and I need to update my website with a newer model. Alex redesigned it and I think it looks great except that I make the fairy different now. Better, I hope. While I'm at it, I might as well make twins.

Headless Girl

Tonight I'm working on a girl carrying her dog in her purse.
Maybe someday I'll get a frou frou dog.We had a Yorkie once for about a week. I loved him and he hated Truman. He dominated Truman and Truman was miserable. We found someone who's dog had died and gave him to her. Everyone was happy.
Here is a table at Glacier Studio in Minneapolis. The guitar is built in. Interesting. Jim recorded there last night.
Today the weather was beautiful. I have too much yard.

Spring Cleaning

Cherry got painted and went home.
