At Last

Well, my computer is fixed. We have another computer in the basement but it isn't set up for photos. Also, I don't care for basements. I never have. Go figure.
I've had a week of rejects(sigh). Hopefully next week will be better. I want to make Professor Snape from Harry Potter. He is the most intriguing character to me.
Here is a variation on Dudley, the best guinea pig in the world.
Cassidy is moving out so I've been compulsively shopping for kitchen necessities.Too much fun.

My upstairs computer is broken, so I can't post any pictures. This is fun.

Cats & Pigs

I'm working on a cat lady today. I'll see how many cats I can cram onto this piece. I have a friend who is down to nine cats plus some kittens.
We saw Harry Potter last night. Yes, it was rather different from the book, but it was pretty good.
A movie with guinea pigs came out today. It reminds me of Dudley, the only pig we've ever had. He was so cute I'm trying to think of another statue starring him.

Projects

Here is the custom cake topper I finished last night. I'll have to see how it goes.
The other picture is of my garage floor. I patched it a few weeks ago. Yesterday I stained it and then I spatter painted it. The paint covers a lot of flaws. Hopefully it'll hold up under Minnesota winters. If it doesn't, I'll touch it up. Next I'll go buy spackle and paint. You can't spatter paint without getting it all over the place, including me. The walls were due for a repainting, anyway.

Only in Minnesota

It is chilly today. I'm wearing a jacket because I'll be damned if I turn the heat on in July. I'm still working on my goth cake topper. Joe and Christy came to dinner last night and Christy gave me these. marvelous petunias.

Hippos Brides & Dancers

Today I remade a Jackson calavera. I sold the first one. Hey, why not? I'm working on a hippo wearing a tutu. I'm reading a Janet Evanovich book and it reminds me of one of the characters.
Tomorrow I'll work on a special order of calaveras for a wedding cake topper. The bride will wear black and the groom will have a mohawk.
Now to watch Bubba Ho-Tep.

Little Men in Little Cars

I haven't been to a parade in ages but something reminded me of Shriners in tiny cars. Here's one.
The cement I laid down last week takes 4 weeks to cure enough to proceed to step 2. Darn! I don't like to wait that long.
Someone inquired about a bride calavera wearing black. Since it's close to what I already do I agreed. I'm waiting to hear back.
Twitter hates me. Other than that, life's peachy.

Jack Russell & the Copperheads

I found this video on youtube . It was filmed on Thursday. This is one of the bands Jim is in. They hadn't played together in almost a year. They're a little rusty because of that. Ray, the lead singer usually writes his own songs and sings them beautifully. This is my favorite cover song, originally done by the BeeGees.
Sometimes Truman eats and drinks like this.

Dog Day

I'm back to sculpting while waiting for the cement patching I did in my garage to dry. Since the floor of the garage couldn't look any more horrible than it did I figured I would take a chance and fix it myself. I'll stain it and spatter paint it in shades of grey. That ought to cover up a lot of flaws.
Speaking of grey, I saw "Grey Gardens" the other night. The comments I read about it spoke of two wonderful eccentrics. I thought they were very sad, but they loved the camera and the attention.
I remember when Elvis died and someone called it a good career move. You could say the same about Jackson.

Fourth of July

Truman used to hate the Fourth of July. He'd freak at the sound of fireworks and spend the evening in the basement. Now he is largely deaf so he doesn't mind. He can sure bark up a storm over squirrels, though, especially early in the morning. One squirrel seems to deliberately tease him. This morning Truman was on one side of a tree and the squirrel was four feet away on the other side. Truman didn't seem to see the squirrel but the squirrel was peeking at him from behind. When he did see the squirrel he barked and then peed on the tree as if that settled everything.

Pooka

Here is Harvey, the Pooka who is from one of my favorite movies.
I'm thinking of making the walrus and the carpenter next. I once memorized the poem when I was young and did such things. Now I only remember parts. The whole poem is probably buried under years of useless junk in my brain.
It is chilly outside and Al Franken really really won.
