When I was a girl at the Cathedral school the nuns would take us down to the crypt under the Cathedral church on Halloween.Here is a picture of the gate that leads to it. We went down a winding stone stairway.There were sarcophagi along the walls containing the remains of past bishops. It was wonderfully creepy, better than a haunted house.I revisited the crypt a few years ago. Still scary. That is what Halloween is about. Love it.
